Backup & Disaster Recovery

Most businesses rely so heavily on their IT data and servers that correct backup solutions are a top priority. When talking to business owners and executives most of them don’t know what a correct backup strategy is. Most people think having a backup of your most critical data is sufficient. But is your business prepared to lose a day’s worth of data? If your server were to go down, is your backup disaster recovery procedure prepared to bring you up instantly? How many hours can your business afford to be down? Are your backups restorable?

Some businesses that have backups are down for a day trying to recover from their backup. If you only do local backups to an external hard drive. Cloud Services Backup Solutions

A lot of businesses think their data is completely safe because it is in the “cloud”. Unfortunately most cloud software providers don’t actually backup your data in a way that you can recover the data – they will ensure that they have replicated copies of your data in multiple locations, but that replicated data is just ONE copy. Most email providers will not have a real backup in place of your emails.

In many cases if this one copy of your data in the cloud is deleted or corrupted there’s no way to recover or restore the data.

Knowing if your data is backed up and protected in the cloud is as critical as on premises data. There are numerous solutions that will backup a fully recoverable backup of your cloud solution so you know you are protected and can put your mind at ease.

Offsite Disaster Recovery & Replication Solutions

The terms backup and replication are often (and inaccurately) used interchangeably. Replicating your data will allow you to power up your server environment instantly without having to “restore” your data.

Architecting an offsite disaster recovery solution has to be done correctly so that the offsite location will “act” just like the primary location in terms of networking, external secure access and any other service that is used by employees and external clients and staff.

Our preferred software solutions in offsite disaster recovery and replication are Veeam and VMware. Both solutions paired make for a very seamless recovery and it can all be automated.
